【摘要】:Thevaporhydrationtestcanbeusedtostudythecorrosionofglassandglassceramicwasteformsunderconditionsofhightemperatureandcontactbywatervapororthinfilmsofwater.Thismethodmayserveasanacceleratedtestforsomematerials,sincethehightemperatureswillacceleratethermallyactivatedprocesses.Awiderangeoftesttemperatureshavebeenreportedintheliteraturex2013;40x00B0;C(Ebertetal,2005(3),forexample)to300x00B0;C(Viennaetal,2001(4),forexample).Itshouldbenotedthatwithincreasedtesttemperaturecomesthepossibilityofchangingthecorrosionratedeterminingmechanismandthetypesofphasesformeduponalterationfromthosethatoccurinthedisposalenvironment(Viennaetal,2001(4)).Thevaporhydrationtestcanbeusedasascreeningtesttodeterminethepropensityofwasteformstoalterandforrelativecomparisonsinalterationratesbetweenwasteforms.1.1Thevaporhydrationtestmethodcanbeusedtostudythecorrosionofawasteformssuchasglassesandglassceramicsuponexposuretowatervaporatelevatedtemperatures.Inaddition,thealterationphasesthatformcanbeusedasindicatorsofthosephasesthatmayformunderrepositoryconditions.Thesetests;whichallowalteringofglassathighsurfaceareatosolutionvolumeratio;provideusefulinformationregardingthealterationphasesthatareformed,thedispositionofradioactiveandhazardouscomponents,andthealterationkineticsunderthespecifictestconditions.Thisinformationmaybeusedinperformanceassessment(McGrailetal,2002(1)forexample).1.2Thistestmethodmustbeperformedinaccordancewithallqualityassurancerequirementsforacceptanceofthedata.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
