【摘要】:ThispartofIEC61300specifiesmeasurementmethodstodeterminethedependenceoflossinasingle-modefibreopticdevicetochangesinpolarization.Thisprocedurefocusesonmeasurementswithafixedwavelengthsource;therefore,thisprocedureisapplicabletodeviceswhosepropertiesatasinglewavelengthcanrepresentthoseoverthebroaderwavelengthband.Typicalexamplesofsuchdevicesaresingle-modeinterconnectingdevicesandpassivecomponents,includingconnectors,splices,branchingdevices,attenuators,isolators,andswitches.Themaximumobservedvariationintransmissionlossisreferredtoaspolarization-dependent-loss(PDL).Thisstandardappliestobroadbanddevicesandnottonarrow-banddeviceslikefiltersandmultiplexers.ThereaderisreferredtoIEC61300-3-29forsuchmeasurements.
